Solaris & Luna: The Rhythm of Balance

Welcome back to the studio! Lately, my days have been spent immersed in a new world of dualities. If you’ve been following along, you might have caught glimpses of my latest series, Solaris and Luna.

This project is incredibly close to my heart because it explores the rhythmic dance between light and dark, energy and rest. Before these pieces make their way onto a gallery wall, they begin their life in a space I’ve carefully carved out for my practice—a sanctuary where the outside world simply fades away.

Cultivating a Creative Sanctuary

For me, the process of painting is just as important as the final canvas. To create work that feels intentional, I have to be intentional with my environment. I’ve curated my workspace to be a pocket of mindfulness; a place of "acoustic calm" where I can truly listen to the direction the paint wants to take.

Whether it’s the way the natural light shifts throughout the afternoon or the quiet stillness of the morning, every element in my studio is there to help me tap into a flow state. It’s in this dedicated quietude that the expressive textures of Solaris and the atmospheric depths of Luna really started to take shape.

The Duality of Light: Solaris & Luna

The series itself is a study of balance, inspired by the natural cycles we all experience.

Solaris is all about that radiant, life-giving energy. I’ve been working with a palette of warm terracotta, burnt sienna, and splashes of gold that catch the light. It’s designed to bring a sense of warmth and vitality into a home.

Luna, on the other hand, is the exhale. It’s the stillness of the evening, captured through mossy greens, parchment, and deep earthy neutrals. It’s the piece you want to look at when you’re winding down and seeking a bit of peace.

From Sketch to Surface

The journey of these paintings hasn't been a straight line. It started with raw sketches of organic forms—observing how light filters through trees or the curve of a petal—and evolved into the thick, layered compositions you see now.

I’ve focused heavily on movement in this series. I want you to feel the history in every brushstroke and the harmony that comes from slow, intentional creation.

Bringing the Peace Home

My goal with Solaris and Luna is to bring a piece of that studio serenity into your own living space. Whether you’re drawn to the sun-drenched energy of the day or the quiet mystery of the night, I hope these works bring a sense of grounded, organic beauty to your home.

I can’t wait to share the final reveal of the full series with you all very soon.

Stay grounded,

Nehara
